Frequently Asked Questions

What is strategic transition coaching?

It's a thinking partnership built around one of the hardest things humans do: changing direction while everything else keeps moving. I help you get clear on what you actually want, identify what's in the way, and build a strategic path forward. It's not therapy, it's not consulting, and it's definitely not cheerleading. It's rigorous, honest, collaborative work.

Who do you typically work with?

People who are at an inflection point. That might look like a career that no longer fits, a major life change they didn't plan for, a sense that the next chapter needs to be fundamentally different from the last one, or simply the feeling that they're capable of more but can't quite see the path yet. My clients tend to be analytical, self-aware, and ready to move. They just need a thinking partner who can keep up.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy is primarily focused on healing and understanding the past. Coaching is focused on designing the future. I'm not qualified to treat mental health conditions and I don't try to. If you're dealing with something that needs clinical support, I'll say so honestly and encourage you to get that help first. Many people work with both a therapist and a coach at the same time, for different purposes.

How long does coaching typically take?

It depends entirely on what you're navigating. Some people need a focused month to work through a specific decision. Others are in the middle of a multi-year reinvention and want ongoing support. We design the engagement around your situation, not a preset package. That's something we figure out together on the discovery call.

What does a session actually look like?

We meet via Zoom. Before each session you'll have done some thinking or preparation so we hit the ground running. During the session we dig into your specific situation, challenge assumptions, build or refine frameworks, and identify clear next steps. After the session you'll have something concrete to work with, not just a good conversation.

How much does it cost?

Investment varies depending on the scope and duration of the engagement. I don't post prices publicly because I don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing. The best way to find out is to book a free 45-minute discovery call. We'll talk about what you need and whether it makes sense to work together.

What's the discovery call?

It's a free 45-minute conversation with no strings attached. We'll talk about where you are, what you're navigating, and whether my approach is the right fit. You'll leave with clarity either way, whether we work together or not.

Do I need to be in a crisis to work with you?

Not at all. Some of the best work happens with people who are doing well by every external measure but feel quietly restless about what's next. You don't need to be falling apart to benefit from strategic thinking about your life. You just need to be ready to think.
